FDP on , “Coffee with Experts” and “Research Proposal Presentation”

THEME : FDP on , “Coffee with Experts” and “Research Proposal Presentation”

SIMS organised a unique FDP which provided the platform to the researchers to present and discuss and seek critical review from the experts in order to overall improve the quality of research. The experts were, Brig. (Retd.) Rajiv Divekar, Dr. B. R. Londhe, Dr. Asha Nagendra, Prof. Komal Chopra and Prof. M. Dhanunjay Kumar. There were 20 researchers who attended this FDP and were immensely benefitted from the expert advice.

14 participants presented their research proposal and they were judged on the quality of the research. The judges were Dr. Maju Singh and Dr. Urvarshi Rathod. The first prize was won by Prof. Poonam Channiwal while second prize was won by Ms. Divya Bhatia. Dr. Mita Mehta and Prof. Arti Chandani thanked all the participants and judges to make the event successful.

Acceptance of the Paper for TERRE YuCon

Maneesha Vashishtha & Dr. Asha Nagendra wrote a paper “Study of Green Practices and Efforts for Sustainability in IT Industries in India” which has been accepted for presentation and publication at the International Youth Conference on Water, Climate and Sustainable Energy 2015.

Fostering Innovation in HR

Our student managers have been thoroughly enlightened by the lecture. They have learnt that an HR professional can foster innovation by Hiring, creating culture and by training and rewarding for innovation. Many student managers had great ideas and visions but they were in a dilemma not knowing what to do with them and how to turn those into reality. Your lecture made them understand the importance of innovation today and how to contribute to their organizations’ Innovation mandate by constantly improving their skills and creating a culture of innovation. They must now have gained clarity of thought on the role of HR and should have understood that the innovation springs from the minds of creative individuals working in an environment that spawns and encourages innovation.

Fun With Science – 360 Degree

A fun filled and enjoyable session was organised under the 360 Degree lecture series. The speaker was Mr Arvind Gupta who showed the student managers how scientific principles can be made fun and easy to learn by way of using small things available all around us. He engaged the audience by showing them some of the toys he had made and how they could be made by anyone with items of daily use. The session was thoroughly enjoyed by student managers and faculty alike and ended with a standing ovation for the speaker.

SIMS has received a grant of Rs. 3.30 lakh
