Open Category : 10% seats are in open category to civilian candidates.(as per merit). International Students :
A few seats are available for international/NRI category students as per Symbiosis International University regulations.* Note:
Dependent’s in Defence category of following are eligible to apply :
- Serving Army, Navy or Air force (hereinafter termed as Defence) personnel.
- Pensioners of regular Army, Navy or Air force.
- Ex-servicemen including ex-Short Service Officers (who have completed 5 years service)
- MNS officers who have taken retirement after 10 years of completed service (without pensionary benefit).
- War Widows who are in receipt of liberalized pension.
- TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.
- Adopted children of Defence personnel (adopted at least 5 years prior to seeking admission).
- Children of widows of Defence personnel who are born as a result of second marriage with Defence personnel.

A. Dependents of Serving Defence Personnel : Officers: Unit DO Part II Order / AG Branch (Org 5) / equivalent copy indicating family details.
Personnel below Officers’ Rank: Unit Part II Order / Records office copy indicating family details.
B. Dependents of pensioners/ex-Servicemen :
- Copy of CCDA (Pension), Allahabad / DCDA (Air Force), Delhi / CDA (Navy), Mumbai; PPO indicating grant of pensionary awards.
- Copy Unit Part II Order / AG Branch or equivalent / Record office indicating details of family members.
- Certificate of ex-servicemen from Zilla Sainik Board will not be acceptable.
C. Dependents in Defence Special Category :
- Copy of Ministry of Defence letter indicating grant of Special/Liberalised Family Pensionary awards; copy of CDA (Pension/DCDA (Air Force)/CDA (Navy) indicating award of Special/Liberalised Pensionary awards.

CONNECT WITH SIMS
An initiative taken by the Vconnect team of SIMS, “Connect With SIMS” aims at providing an interactive platform for aspiring MBA candidates. The idea was conceived in August 2014 under the aegis of Brig. Rajiv Divekar (Retd), Director SIMS and Dr. Suruchi Pandey. Conducting seminars across cities, the session seeks to provide an insight and guide MBA aspirants regarding the SNAP test and SIMS Pune.
An informative session to do away with doubts and myths surrounding the MBA program and SNAP and familiarize to them the new selection process, Connect with SIMS allows the audiences with an opportunity to clarify doubts through a one-on-one interaction with student managers from SIMS.
Hitting the floor with its 1st edition in September,” Connect With SIMS” looks forward to interacting with the vast pool of endeavoring talent in all defence establishments across the country in the following cities-

Admission to all the courses and programmes at Symbiosis International University (SIU) are strictly on merit basis based on the criteria and processes prescribed by the University and assessment of individual performance in Symbiosis National Aptitude Test [SNAP] for Postgraduate Studies and Symbiosis Entrance Test [SET] for Undergraduate Studies.
All aspirants / parents are hereby notified that some individuals / organisations are giving / making false and misleading advertisements / claims in newspapers, websites, social media platforms that they can ensure admission to Symbiosis International University and also charging heavy amount for the same.
In this regard, SIU requests the aspirants / parents to refrain from entering into any transaction with such elements. SIU has not appointed any individual / agency / organisation to make such assurance on its behalf. It is a matter of Policy that SIU does not charge capitation fee for admission from students and this is widely and prominently published as well on all the relevant places like prospectus, website, SNAP Booklet, SET Booklet etc.
Despite this Notice, if any aspirant / parents still proceeds with or enters into transaction with such elements, they would be doing so at their own risk and cost. SIU further notifies that any aspirant attempting to approach SIU for admission through or at the instances of such agents will be permanently debarred from admission to all the courses and programmes at Symbiosis International University.
SIMS conducts approximately two and half months (March-May) pre-induction and orientation programme. A study material consisting of tutorials on Economics, Statistics, Accounting and Case Study methodology is sent to a student on taking admission. Faculty members are available to guide and clarify and explain in case of any doubts. Online exams (minimum two) in each subject are held to assess the level of assimilation. Prizes are given to the two students scoring the highest marks. The charge for the programme is Rs. 35,000/- (non-refundable) and is to be paid along with 1st instalment of fees.
SIMS also gives access to the students for the Harvard Business Publishing (HBP) online learning module which covers the subjects ranging from financial accounting to business communication. These online modules will help students to gain knowledge into the various subjects of management, before the actual classes can start.
MBA (Full-time residential):
A Candidate should be a graduate or a post graduate from a statutory university with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. Students appearing in their final year degree examination can apply but their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks overall at qualifying exam before August, 2017. Defence category candidates should be ward of Defence Personnel as mentioned below.
Important: It is the responsibility of the Candidates to ascertain whether they possess the requisite qualifications for admission. Having been admitted provisionally does not mean acceptance of eligibility. Final eligibility for admission will be decided by Symbiosis International University.
