Noesis – The operations club in SIMS was formed somewhere in mid of 2010. The word “Noesis” is a process of the mind that analyzes complex things with simplicity. We believe that the best ideas are the simplest ones.
The Operations Club of SIMS promotes rational thinking and helps making complex things simple. Operations is the core of every business and plays a pivotal role in any business’s success.
Noesis enables students to think beyond classroom learning which aligns them with current industry practices activities. Noesis aims to inspire students to come up with improvements in terms of cost, quality, and time – by innovating on, and simplifying day-today processes and activities.
The best ideas are simple ones. This is done through non-conventional and practical ways of learning and knowledge sharing. This helps students to enhance their analytical power, objective decision making skills, and provide them with a practical mindset towards solving problems. Noesis is all about polishing student managers into World Class Managers !

The event was successfully conducted by the Operations Club, The Infinite Club, The Entrepreneurship Cell and the Women Cell.

Team Neosis organized the event. The topic for Discussion was “GST- A Game Changer

Infinite Stratagem event was orchestrated on the theme of GST. GST is a new tax system is surrounded by a lot of speculations. The advantages and disadvantages of this new system are uncertain and affect every citizen.  To help student managers understand GST we invited prominent speakers to throw some light on the issue. The four speakers invited were top executives in their field who have vast experience and are implementing GST in their work. The speakers shared their knowledge on the topic with the student managers and helped resolve their queries. For this event, the club had also invited entrepreneurs who could benefit from this session. The panelists conveyed their thoughts in a manner so that the audience could understand it well and a great deal about GST.

Eminent guest speakers were a part of this event. They gave commendable insights on GST, its after effects and the various government regulations being undertaken to successfully implement and incorporate it into the system. The entrepreneurs and student managers took active participation in the event thereby making it a success.

Noesis- The Operations club of SIMS conducted “THE BEER GAME”, arelated to supply chain management.

It basically is played in team of four and is based on the concept of Bull-Whip effect which includes fluctuation of demand and supply between factories, distributors, whole sellers and retailers.

We had preliminary elimination round where 33 team (142 students) participated to play the operations crossword round. And after neck to neck competition 5 team made it to finale of simulation game.

Noesis – The Operations Club of SIMS have conducted session on 09/09/2015 on “Importance of Operations as Specialization” taken by our eminent professor M.K Gandhi.

The session’s prime motive was to clear the muddle of choosing Operations as specialization for Batch 2015-17. The session was great success and students were showing overwhelming response getting there all the uncertainties sorted.

Noesis is pleased to release the August edition of “LeadTime”. We have reinvented newsletter and incorporated views from various B-schools across the country. An article writing competition was conducted and after observing stiff participation from B-schools like IIM Raipur, IIT Roorkee, SIOM, SITM,, Great Lakes etc, We have narrowed down on 3 top winners.

The theme of this edition of newsletter is “The Suppliers world” and articles were based on the same. Also a new section has been introduced in this edition which highlights the Intern ship experience of the Operations 2014-2016 batch of SIMS and one personality of month Ms. Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook.
