SIMS holds a long and proud tradition of maintaining ties with its alumni and keeping them connected with their alma mater. This year made it even more special as the college celebrates 25 glorious years. This time after a gap of two years, the Alumni Cell organised the meeting at Hyderabad on 3rd Sept 2017 at Mocha Bar at Jubilee Hills. The occasion was filled with enthusiastic alumni getting together and rejoicing in the presence of each other. Director, Brig. Rajiv Divekar, Ms Renu Kulkarni and Prof (Dr) Naval Lawande graced the event with their presence.
During the meet, the Alumni Cell screened a video that made the batches reminisce their days in SIMS creating a wave of nostalgia. Besides that, two videos showcasing the various events organised by the college over the past year were shown to the alumni emphasising on the active college calendar. We celebrated the batches that completed 5, 10, 15, 20 years of passing out of SIMS with a special mention to the ‘95 batch that was the first to pass out from the college.
The meet provided a platform for the alumni to interact among their college mates. It gave them an opportunity to establish a professional network in a casual and relaxed environment. The meet had higher turnout from the recent batches 2016 and 2017, considering Hyderabad is a job hub of fresh MBA graduates. Hence, it was a great opportunity for them to meet their batch mates and connect with them for which they couldn’t find time from their busy routine keeping in my mind their career development.
The meet was concise and the venue had a very relaxing aura and included a lavish lunch buffet. The alumni went home happy and satisfied, taking back bucket loads of shared memories from their days in SIMS.

National Alumni Meet 2017 was a memorable event with colourful buntings and drapes hanging from student balconies above stalls with lip smacking food and beverages.
The day kicked off early, with both basketball and football matches played with a vigour that can be showcased only by SIMsites. The rest of the day was filled with music, dance, food and beautiful backdrops to take pictures to cherish. SUR got everyone to stop in their tracks and listen to their brilliant outdoor performance under MBH. The flash mob performance by Vibes in front of MBH was enjoyed by a huge audience with cheers and claps throughout the rendition.
NAM's third edition of SIMS Affair held at Chanakya witnessed an ever greater level of student-alumni interaction, with questions ranging from the topics of life in SIMS, placements, transition from college to corporate life and much more! The panel consisted of Pranav Bakshi (Batch of 2003), Harshvardhan (Batch of 2003), Yayati Zende (Batch of 2006), Dhruv Kanal(Batch of 2013) and Nelson Suresh(Batch of 2014) who were more than open to questions from student managers.
A more serious atmosphere existed in Chanakya, where three finalists were fighting to the bone for the opportunity to pitch the perfect B-plan, and be mentored by one of the finest entrepreneurs SIMS has had the privilege of witnessing. The winner of Pitch Perfect was Anmol of the Team Neophyte from the 2016-2018 batch, and will be mentored by the competition's gracious judge, Saurabh Sharma, COO at the Potters Earth coaching. He is also working with Think Talent Services in People Development Solutions. (Batch 1999 - 2001).
This was followed by High-tea under the dome which was filled with an array of delicious food and alumni reminiscing their old memories with their fellow batch mates and sharing some their experiences with the student council.
And finally, the cultural evening was nothing short of extravagant. From scintillating sounds of the Sur team, to Aks' outlandish performances, and to Vibes enthusiastic and uplifting dance performance- the cultural clubs of SIMS gave it their all- and the alumni were more than willing to (re)participate! The evening culminated in a thrilling performance by Yayati Zende Sir and Chetan Sindhwani Sir who also played a song with Sur followed by a performance by Nelson Suresh Sir.
As the Meet drew closer to an end, there was a bittersweetness in the air, and a promise to meet again soon.
